Actor Joe Thomas can easily be mistaken for the American football star who bears the same name. But this actor was able to tackle this identity issue and prove his acting skills. For those who may not have heard the name before, actor Joe Thomas is best known for his portrayal of Simon Cooper in the British sitcom, The Inbetweeners
Age, early life and rise to fame
He was born Joseph Owen Thomas on October 28, 1983, in Chelmsford, Essex, England. The first actor of four children, the English actor plays the role of the big brother of three younger brothers. He attended King Edward VI Grammar School in Chelmsford, after which he attended Pembroke College, University of Cambridge. Joe studied history at Pembroke College and, although he explained how distracted he had been while studying, he ended up graduating 2:1 in 2006.
Thomas entered the performing arts through the Ramp. He served as president of Footlights’s drama club from 2005 to 2006, while in college. This allowed him to perform at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in a production of, All’s Well That Ends Well. He did this performance alongside fellow Cambridge University students. However, his acting career was given a boost following his performance in The Inbetweeners. He starred in the series from 2008 to 2010. Joe Thomas then starred in the two series spinoffs that followed.
As well as being an actor, the England-born star is a writer. He teamed up with Jonny Sweet to write the satire, Chickens, which debuted in September 2011. A full series of Chickens was subsequently commissioned. He went ahead to feature in the Channel 4 series, Fresh Meat, where he portrayed the character of Kingsley Owens. Also, he featured in the comedy radio series, Proposal, where he portrayed the character of a man intending to propose to his girlfriend.
Joe’s best friends are Simon Bird and Jonny Sweet. The three of them met during their first year at Pembroke College in Cambridge. Simon Bird starred in The Inbetweeners alongside Joe. The collaboration of the three of them came with the production of chickens. Joe Thomas is a mad fan of the series, Impractical Jokers. He also has a thing for flattery and goes by the nickname Crampo, which he says is linked to football.
What is his net worth?
Notably, TV series actors are paid per episode regardless of the show they are presenting and the Fresh Meat star was no exception. Joe Thomas and his Inbetweeners co-stars reportedly made £100,000 each, for the series’ original film. Joe was able to earn a lot of money which gave him a net worth of $2 million.
Joe Thomas Family – Wife, Children
The English actor began an intimate relationship with his 2010 Inbetweeners co-star Hannah Tointon, Simon Cooper, the series’ on-screen character Simon Cooper dated Hannah Tointon’s character – Tara. The two English actors have gone ahead to solidify their on-screen romance and it seems to be working for them. The lovebirds got engaged in 2017 after Joe got down on one knee and popped the question to Tointon, then 29. It was precisely after seven years of dating. To most people, that’s pretty impressive because the world has seen many co-star relationships disappear before the dawn of seven.
It should interest you to know that Joe has described himself as a romantic, one-woman guy. Well, given his relationship with Hannah, it seems the bachelor life isn’t his thing, after all. He and Hannah Tointon live together in London. The actor opened up about the things that resulted from moving in with someone to start a life together. But the two England stars seem to believe their love can take a lot. As far as we know, they don’t have any kids yet and are about to start a family together.
Height – How tall is it?
