Heart attack
Jerry Lawler’s health has made headlines for years. The first was in 2012 when he suffered a heart attack. The cardiac arrest happened while he was live during an episode of RAW in September. Medical staff rushed to the announcement table where they sat down to administer CPR. Later, Lawler underwent angioplasty. After a few days in the hospital, he made a full recovery and was allowed to continue wrestling.
In April 2018, Lawler revealed via his DinnerWith King podcast that he suffered a stroke on March 31, 2018 while he and his girlfriend were having sex. His girlfriend Lauryn McBride quickly rushed him to the emergency room, where doctors discovered he was suffering from a brain haemorrhage. He was placed in the ICU and could not speak for two days. As with his previous encounter, Lawler made a full recovery and returned to wrestling duties.
women
The king was married three times in his lifetime. His first marriage was to Kay in 1971. The marriage lasted 7 years and ended in divorce in 1978. Their marriage produced two children, Brian Christopher and Kevin. Although both followed in their father’s footsteps to become professional wrestlers, Brian is the more successful one.
Lawler’s next wife was Paula whom he married in 1982 and divorced in 1991. His third wife Stacy Lee Carter, whom he married in 2000, would become the most popular of all his wives. They first met in 1989 at a charity game at Treadwell High School in Memphis. At the time, Lawler was obviously married to his second wife, Paula. However, he later confessed to the media that he considered having an affair with Carter despite being married. The media believe that it was his affection for Carter that ended his marriage to Paula.
After Lawler and Paula finished things off, Carter moved in with him. They dated for years before walking down the aisle in September 2000. Carter, when she met Lawler, she was working as a bank teller. However, Lawler used his influence to get better jobs. First in a photography studio before helping her start her own hairdressing salon.
But it wasn’t over, Carter quickly became a professional wrestling valet and later joined the World Wrestling Federation (now WWE) as a wrestler under the nickname The Kat.
However, Lawler’s marriage to Carter was only short-lived. A year after their official marriage, they separated in 2001 and their divorce was finalized in 2003. After their separation, she left the WWF and started working in real estate. Nine years after her relationship with Lawler ended, Carter in July 2010, became engaged and later married to professional wrestler Nick Cvjetkovich.
Son – Brian Christopher
Lawler’s first son, Brian Christopher, was born on January 10, 1972, in Memphis, Tennessee. At the age of 16, he began his career as a member of ‘The Twilight Zone’ tag team known for their trademark face masks.
Nearly ten years later, Brian rejoined his father in the WWF, but was kept secret from his fans that he was Lawler’s son until Paul Heyman ousted him on RAW. Christopher left WWE in 2001, but has since made several returns, in 2004, then in 2011 and 2014. Between his absence, he wrestled in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), as well as on the Independent circuit. He spent 30 days in 2009 after his arrest for disorderly conduct.
Jerry Lawler’s Girlfriend
After ending things with Carter, things were in the early stages of his relationship with Lauryn McBride, at least as of 2011, he has kept quiet since Lawler’s dealings and details on McBride’s Facebook page. She was born in 1989, which makes her 40 years younger than Lawler. She is from Collierville, Tennessee.
McBride and Lawler have been through some tough times together. She was by his side during a massive heart attack in 2012. On Halloween in 2015, the couple was involved in a horrific traffic accident that destroyed Lawler’s red sports car. After the crash, Lawler reported that McBride showed signs of a concussion.
Like Lawler, McBride already has relationships and even has a son. His son’s name is Peyton. In 2016, the couple made headlines when they were taken to court for domestic abuse, blaming each other. The charges resulted in their indefinite suspension from WWE. The couple were later reinstated and also found a way to work things out and then got engaged.
