He was born on October 29, 1988 in Pahokee, Florida. Jenkins began showing an inclination towards football from a young age. He played high school football at Pahokee High School with the Pahokee Blue Devils where he displayed great skill and athleticism. In his high school days, he was named in the 2B All-State first-team selection. He was also ranked as the sixth best cornerback prospect in the nation.
After leaving an impressive high school record, Jenkins went to the University of Florida on a scholarship and played for the Florida Gators. The talented player went down in school history as the second freshman. Jenkins went on to record other accomplishments, such as making his way to College Football News and Sporting News’ freshman All-American teams. However, his glory days with the team came to an end after he was caught with marijuana in 2011.
