An apology has been issued by Jamie Foxx to the Jewish community and to anyone who may have been offended by a cryptic post he shared.
On Friday August 4, the 55-year-old actor posted on Instagram, criticizing ‘fake friends’ and ‘fake love’, and asking, ‘They killed this dude name Jesus… what do you think they’ll do to you?’
Some interpreted Jamie’s post as antisemitic, with The Times of Israel suggesting it referenced the ‘Jewish deicide’ belief that holds ‘Jews are collectively responsible for the killing of Jesus.’
Subsequently, Jamie took to Instagram to express his regret: ‘I now know my choice of words have caused offense and I’m sorry. That was never my intent’.
