BIOGRAPHY
Jack Gleeson is an Irish actor, born on May 20, 1992, in Cork, Ireland. He studied at Gonzaga College, where he would begin taking drama classes, with his sisters Rachel and Emma, also actresses. He also studied philosophy and theology at Trinity College, Dublin.
He would debut on the stages of the Independent Theater Workshop, achieving some recognition, which would lead him to film and television. He made his film debut with a small role in the film Reign of Fire (2002) and shortly after appeared in Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins (2005). After appearing in the series Killinaskully (2006-2008) and the film Death’s Head (2007), Gleeson would get his most important role and for which he is remembered, that of the sadistic Joffrey Baratheon, in the successful HBO series Game of Thrones . Thrones (2011-2014), in which he would participate throughout 26 episodes. Despite his growing success, at the end of 2017, Jack announced his retirement from acting to instead dedicate himself fully to other goals.
