An Irish chef, Alan Fisher, has taken over the Guinness World Record for the longest individual cooking marathon, surpassing the previous record held by Nigerian chef, Hilda Baci. Fisher achieved this feat by cooking for an impressive 119 hours and 57 minutes, exceeding Baci’s record by 24 hours.
British organization stated, “Alan Fisher (Ireland), an owner and chef of a restaurant in Japan, has broken two cooking-related Guinness World Records titles. First up, he’s claimed the longest cooking marathon (individual) after clocking in a time of 119 hours 57 minutes. That is more than 24 hours longer than the previous record held by Nigerian chef Hilda Baci.
In addition to the longest cooking marathon, Fisher also set a new record for the longest baking marathon by an individual, completing it in 47 hours and 21 minutes, surpassing the previous record holder, Wendy Sandner (USA), by over 16 hours, according to the Guinness World Records.
The organization further commented, “What’s even more impressive is that Alan took on both attempts back to back, meaning he was at work in the kitchen for over 160 hours with just over a day of rest in between!”
26-year-old Hilda Baci from Akwa Ibom state was on Tuesday, June 13, officially declared the Guinness World Record holder for the longest cooking marathon. She made history when she cooked for with a time of 93 hours 11 minutes.
