Insight into Chelsea’s New Manager Graham Potter’s Salary

Upon his appointment, Chelsea reportedly granted the new coach, Graham Potter, a £60 million contract and expects his input in choosing the club’s new sporting director.

The Telegraph claimed that this five-year deal, one of the lengthiest in Chelsea’s history, amounts to £12 million annually, potentially bringing the former Brighton boss £60 million if he completes the full term.

This contract is in addition to the £15 million the club paid to release the 47-year-old from his Seagulls deal.

Potter brought along five members of his staff from The Amex Stadium to West London, including assistant Billy Reid, coaches Bjorn Hamberg and Bruno, and goalkeeping coach Ben Roberts.

Furthermore, Potter is set to contribute to the search for a new sporting director at the club.

Chelsea aims to appoint a ‘world-class’ director, engaging both individuals with Premier League experience and those who have worked on the continent.

New owner Todd Boehly had initially taken on the role of sporting director in the summer but now wishes to secure a permanent appointment, allowing him to step back and provide support to the new full-time appointee, alongside Behdad Eghbali.

The club swiftly confirmed Potter’s appointment after parting ways with Thomas Tuchel.

Chelsea had discussions with former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino, but eventually decided on Potter.

Announcing his appointment, Chelsea’s new American owner Boehly said, “We are thrilled to bring Graham to Chelsea. He is a proven coach and an innovator in the Premier League who fits our vision for the club. Not only is he extremely talented on the pitch, he has skills and capabilities that extend beyond the pitch which will make Chelsea a more successful club. He has had a major impact at his previous clubs and we look forward to his positive impact at Chelsea. We look forward to supporting him, his coaching team and the squad in realizing their full potential in the coming months and years.”
