The Long Island guy detained in connection with the historic Gilgo Beach killings prefers to persuade with a hammer and calls himself a “troubleshooting” architect.
An investigation into the killings led to the arrest of Rex Heuermann, a married father of two, numerous sources told The Post on Friday as police surrounded his Massapequa Park home.
Heuermann, 59, is charged with three counts of first-degree murder and three counts each of second-degree murder in the deaths of Melissa Barthelemy, Megan Waterman, and Amber Costello in 2009 and 2010, according to court documents.
In a case that confounded detectives for years, there were at least 10 victims, including those whose bodies were discovered nearby.
