On Survivor, no contestant has ever died despite living in unsafe conditions, starving, and pushing their bodies to the limit in physical challenges. This is because the producers of Survivor take the participants' lives very seriously, and if a contestant is in a life-threatening or even life-changing circumstance (such as losing a leg), the medical team has the authority to remove them from the programme.

What Is The Survivor Series About?
Survivor is a reality-competition television series that airs in a variety of nations. The show follows a group of contestants who have been purposefully marooned in a remote place and must fend for themselves by providing food, water, fire, and shelter. The contestants participate in challenges for prizes and the chance to avoid being eliminated. The players are gradually eliminated from the game as they are voted out by their peers, until only one contestant remains to be declared the "Sole Survivor" and granted the big prize.

The format for Survivor was created in 1992 by British television producer Charlie Parsons for Planet 24, a UK television production firm; the Swedish version, which began in September 1997 as Expedition Robinson, was the first Survivor series to be broadcast on television. Since its debut in 2000, the flagship American version of Survivor has broadcast 41 seasons, with the 41st, and most current, airing in late 2021.
Format Of The Survivor Series
Survivor has retained the basic premise of the game throughout its seasons and many international variations, despite some new rules and gameplay twists introduced in later seasons. In the game, the castaways are divided into tribes and placed in separate camps at the filming location, which is usually a tropical area. The castaways must endure the weather, create shelter, build fire, search for water, and scavenge for food and other essentials as a tribe throughout the duration of the game, which varies from 20 days (as in the French special seasons) to 153 days for most editions, including the American version (as in some seasons of the Turkish edition). The tribes compete in challenges in the first half of the game, some for rewards such as food, shelter, or luxury items, and others for immunity, which prevents the winning tribe from having to attend the next Tribal Council. At Tribal Council, the tribes analyse the previous few days' events with the host, and then vote out one of their own players, removing them from the game.

The tribes are combined into a single tribe in the second part of the game, and challenges are performed on an individual basis for individual rewards and immunity. Those that are eliminated begin to constitute the jury at following Tribal Councils, and they sit in on all subsequent Tribal Councils but do not participate in them. When there are only two or three castaways left, they are summoned to the Final Tribal Council, where the jury is given the opportunity to question them. Following that, the jury members vote to determine which of the surviving castaways should be crowned Sole Survivor and receive the grand prize.
Episodes usually cover the events of the previous two to three days, including Challenges and happenings at the tribes' camps, since the start of the game or the previous Tribal Council. Each episode usually concludes with the Tribal Council and the following elimination of the individual who was voted out.
The following description is based on the American version of Survivor, however the overall format applies to all international versions.
