Grammy announces 2024 lifetime achievement award honorees


The latest recipients of the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Recording Academy for the Grammy have been revealed. This year’s honorees include Laurie Anderson, The Clark Sisters, Gladys Knight, N.W.A, Donna Summer, and Tammy Wynette. According to the Grammy organizers, the Special Merit Award is given to performers who have made significant creative contributions during their lifetimes.

Additionally, the 2024 Trustees Award recipients are Peter Asher, DJ Kool Herc, and Joel Katz. Tom Kobayashi and Tom Scott are the Technical GRAMMY Award honorees, and ‘Refugee’, written by K’naan, Steve McEwan, and Gerald Eaton, has been honored with the Best Song for Social Change Award. The Special Merit Awards ceremony is set to take place at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles on February 3, 2024.

The main Grammy ceremony will be held on February 4, 2024, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Notably, Nigerian artists Davido, Burna Boy, Tems, Ayra Starr, Asake, and Olamide have received nominations in various categories for the 66th Grammys.
