Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has given an update on his health status.
In a statement released on Sunday by his Chief Press Secretary, Richard Olatunde, the Governor disclosed that he is still recuperating in Germany and has not yet returned to Nigeria, contrary to rumors circulating on social media.
Akeredolu, however, reassured the public that he will soon be back in the country to continue his responsibilities of governing the state.
Emphasizing on his priority, the Governor stated that his main focus is to ensure a complete recovery before coming back to the country.
Over the weekend, there was speculation when a short video clip emerged showing the Governor disembarking from a helicopter, leading some to believe that he had returned from his medical vacation.
While acknowledging the excitement of the residents of the state, as well as the Governor’s supporters and well-wishers, Olatunde affirmed that Akeredolu intends to return to the state soon.
“The circulating video was actually taken during the Governor’s campaign tour in preparation for the last Presidential and National Assembly elections.
“Governor Akeredolu is eagerly looking forward to reuniting with the people of the Sunshine State. The overwhelming show of love and support deeply touches him, and he is impatient to resume working towards a brighter future for Ondo State.””
