Following her arrival in the Cayman Islands from the USA last week, Gigi Hadid has been arrested and charged with possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
The 28-year-old supermodel was on a girls’ trip to the Cayman Islands on July 10 when she was arrested at Owen Roberts International Airport, as per E! News.
According to the local outlet Cayman Marl Road, custom officials allegedly discovered “ganja and utensils used for the consumption of ganja” in their luggage shortly after Hadid and her friend arrived via a private plane.
After this discovery, Hadid and her friend were arrested on “suspicion Importation of Ganja and Importation of Utensils used for the consumption of ganja,” and taken to the Prisoner Detention Center. They were then released on bail.
Although the marijuana was found to be for ‘personal use only,’ Hadid and her friend faced charges of importation of marijuana and importation of utensils for smoking the cannabis.
Two days later, during a court appearance on July 12, Hadid and her pal pleaded guilty and were both fined $1,000, according to Cayman Marl Road. They are not facing any charges.
