Funke Akindele’s Perspective on Divorce

Renowned Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has expressed that she does not view her two previous marriages ending in divorce as “failures.”

During an interview with Wazobia FM, Lagos, Akindele shared that her mother instilled in her the belief that failure is a crucial component for achieving success.

She emphasized that she approaches marriage with an accepting mindset, highlighting the significance of her mental well-being and professional pursuits.

Akindele stressed that her primary focus is on leading a purposeful life and supporting her children and siblings.

She remarked, “I don’t perceive any aspect of my personal life, such as marriage, as a failure. I simply navigate through it as it unfolds. My mental and career welfare are paramount, darling.”

She continued, “I am committed to making a difference, empowering others, and inspiring the younger generation. I must remain resilient for my children and siblings. What drives me? I have a purpose, and thus, I hold my head high. Yes, I may shed tears and face breakdowns, but after each episode, I look at myself in the mirror and affirm, ‘keep moving,'” she elaborated.
