Fashion mogul Mary-Kate Olsen seeks emergency divorce from husband Olivier Sarkozy after 5 years of marriage

American fashion designer and former actress Mary-Kate Olsen has initiated an emergency order to divorce her husband Olivier Sarkozy after five years of marriage.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the 33-year-old fashion mogul filed for the emergency order this week. She had initially signed a petition to divorce the 50-year-old French banker on April 17, 2020, but was unable to file it due to the courts not accepting non-emergency filings amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

She is now requesting an emergency order that would permit her to file for divorce after Olivier terminated their lease without her knowledge and demanded that she remove her belongings from the home by May 18.

A source told E! News, “It’s gotten very ugly between them,” indicating a heated divorce. The insider reveals, “She’s done with constant drama.”

The former child star and her twin, Ashley Olsen, are each worth an estimated $250 million (£205 million). It is claimed that her fortune is now “protected” following her split from her husband.

It was also reported that Mary-Kate, who has requested the enforcement of their prenuptial agreement, has moved out from the couple’s home in the Big Apple and is now spending time with her identical twin sister.

Mary-Kate and Olivier, who commenced dating in 2012, tied the knot in 2015 in an intimate wedding ceremony.

Olivier is the half-brother of former President of France, Nicolas Sarkozy.
