Actress and singer Emmanuelle Gray Rossum, better known as Emmy Rossum , was born on September 12, 1986 in New York City, New York, United States. From a very young age she began to practice singing and was part of the Metropolitan Opera Children’s Choir. After participating in several operas such as “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and “Carmen” she debuted on the small screen with a small role in the television series Law and Order (1997). In 2000 she debuted on the big screen with the film Songcatcher, for which she received very good reviews. She later participated in projects such as Mystic River (2003), The Day After Tomorrow (2004), Poseidon (2006) and The Phantom of the Opera (2004) by Andrew Lloyd Weber, a film in which she plays Christine . Her excellent work in said production earned her recognition from the public and critics. Among her most recent projects are the television series Shameless (2011-2019) and the film Revenge (2019).
