Rapper Drake is celebrating a massive win of $2.7 million after Israel Adesanya knocked out Alex Pereira at UFC 287, reclaiming the middleweight title.
Just five months after losing the 185lb title to his bitter rival Pereira, the Nigerian-born New Zealander reclaimed the victory. Pereira had previously beaten Adesanya twice in kickboxing. In the earlier fight, Drake had lost $1.6 million after betting on Adesanya but made a comeback in the rematch with Pereira.
Reported by Mirror UK, Drake placed a $500,000 bet on Adesanya to win, resulting in a return of $885,000, and a $400,000 bet for Adesanya to win by knockout, which brought in a massive $1.8 million.
‘Stylebender’ was asked about Drake’s bet after his fight and responded, “Shoutout to everyone that bet on me, but you have to realize that when I step into the octagon, I put my life on the line. That’s the biggest parlay you can ever do. I’m a betting man too, so shoutout to stake, we are about to make another deal and get more money.”
