Customers in Paia lost power for about two hours Saturday morning due to a downed pole.

Hawaiian Electric spokeswoman Shayna Decker said that the pole went down along Baldwin Avenue between Paia Mill Road and Kona Road, snagging power lines that brought down three other poles.

In the Paia area, 450 customers lost power at around 6:45 a.m. Crews were able to restore power to most customers by 8:50 a.m.

Hawaiian Electric crews were still in the area shortly before 10 a.m. to continue repairing the downed poles and lines.

Decker said that the cause behind the first downed pole was still being assessed.
