Dodgers star Julio Urias arrested for felony domestic violence in L.A.

Julio Urias, a star pitcher for the Dodgers, was arrested on charges of felony domestic violence in Los Angeles. The 27-year-old player was taken into custody in the L.A. area just after 11 PM and was transported to an LAPD jail, where he was booked around 1 AM.

His bail was set at $50,000, and after spending 4 hours in custody, Urias, who is earning over $14 million this season, posted bail and was released around 5 AM on Monday.

Urias was scheduled to attend the LAFC game on Sunday night, featuring Lionel Messi. However, it’s uncertain if the alleged incident took place at BMO Stadium.

The Dodgers confirmed his arrest in a statement that said, “We are aware of an incident involving Julio Urías. While we attempt to learn all the facts, he will not be traveling with the team. The organization has no further comment at this time.”

It’s not the first time Urias has faced allegations of domestic violence. In May 2019, he was accused of pushing a woman at the Beverly Center mall in Beverly Hills. However, the alleged victim later told investigators that she had simply fallen.
