BIOGRAPHY
Born in Paris, Corinne Marchand showcased her talents as an actress and singer on stage, during her theater classes. She introduced herself to the world of cinema through extras and small roles, such as with her appearance in Gigi , the musical film by Vincente Minnelli in 1958. Four years later, she played alongside Anouk Aimée and Marc Michel , under the rule of Jacques Demy who offered him the role of Daisy in Lola . Through her supporting roles, the actress attracted the attention of Claude Chabrol who directed her in the Franco-Italian sketch film, The Seven Deadly Sins . In 1962, Corinne Marchand experienced her first major success thanks to the main role she played in Cléo de 5 à 7 by Agnès Varda .

Always alternating theater and cinema, the actress launched by Varda continued her career by working with renowned French directors such as Jean Delannoy ( Les Sultans , 1966) or Jacques Poitrenaud ( The Tin Duck , 1967). In 1970, she played the role of Mme Rinaldi in Borsalino by Jacques Deray alongside Jean-Paul Belmondo and Alain Delon before joining Marcello Mastroianni , Catherine Deneuve and Michel Piccoli in Liza (1971), a dramatic comedy on sexuality, from Italian director Marco Ferreri . In addition to her performances on the big screen, Corinne Marchand played Madame de Pompadour for French television in C’estarrive à Paris (TV) (1977) by Francois Villiers and renewed her collaboration with Jean Delannoy for the TV film Le Crime by Pierre Lacaze (TV ) (1983).

In the cinema, she was directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud in Coup de tête (1979), then by Claude Lelouch who offered her the role of Manuchka in his detective film Attention bandits! (1987). In 1994, She changed tone by appearing in Patrice Leconte ‘s romantic comedy : Le Parfum d’Yvonne , which brought her together for the first time with Richard Bohringer . His collaboration with the actor continued three years later with the television series An Angry Man, a year during which she also worked with Claude Pinoteau on Les Palmes de M. Schutz which allowed her to opposite Philippe Noiret and Isabelle Huppert .

Increasingly discreet on the screens, Corinne Marchand made an appearance in season 7 of L’Instit (2001), then played the role of a director in Innocence by Lucile Hadzihalilovic in 2005. She then took a break from her career before filming La Mélodie de Rachid Hami (2017), in which she played the mother of the character played by Kad Merad .
