At the age of 93, Buzz Aldrin celebrated his birthday by marrying his beloved, Dr. Anca Faur, who is 63 years old.
The former American astronaut tied the knot with Anca Faur in a lovely ceremony surrounded by close friends and family.
Sharing their wedding news, the former engineer and fighter pilot posted two photos from their special day. One of the pictures captured the couple inside their venue, with Aldrin dressed in a smart suit adorned with a medal and an Air Force badge.
In a tweet to his 1.5 million followers, Aldrin wrote, “On my 93rd birthday & the day I will also be honored by Living Legends of Aviation, I am pleased to announce that my longtime love Dr. Anca Faur & I have tied the knot.
“We were joined in holy matrimony in a small private ceremony in Los Angeles & are as excited as eloping teenagers.”
Congratulations poured in following their announcement.
“First to the moon and now to a honeymoon :). Congrats colonel!” one message read.
Another added, “WOW! Congratulations Colonel Aldrin! Life begins at 93! All the best.”
Aldrin has been married and divorced three times.
Aldrin became the second man to walk on the moon back in 1969.
He joined Neil Armstrong and Michael Collins for the Apollo 11 mission.
