Bob Gillen Obituary, Death – A house fire that was caused by accident claimed the life of Robert Gillen Sr., who resided in Osage and was 84 years old. He passed tragically as a result of those circumstances. The incident that led to his passing took place on Friday, December 6, 2019, in the house where he had been residing.
A memorial ceremony will be performed on Saturday, January 4, 2020, in remembrance of both Bob and Nancy Gillen. The service will be held in their honour. The VFW Hall is located in Osage. On the first of December in the year 1935, Robert “Bob” Larry Gillen Sr. was born in the city of Waterloo, which is situated in the state of Iowa. Jack and Amelia (Ford) Gillen were his parents, and he was their son because he was their child. The oldest of their children, he was. Bob attended school in the Waterloo region of the city.
The region was home to these educational institutions. Shortly after he enlisted in the United States Army, he was given a position in Germany. This appointment came about shortly after his army service. The years 1954 through 1957 were the ones in which he served his tenure. On September 23, 1958, he and Nancy Graves became husband and wife in the city of Waterloo.
They exchanged their vows and became husband and wife simultaneously. There are a total of six children that have been born as a result of this union to date. Robert was an inspector for John Deere for the entirety of his thirty-year career with the company. During that time, he worked for John Deere. The two activities that he enjoyed doing the most were spending time with his dog, Merle, and watching the birds. It was also enjoyable for him to work with his dog. Bob had a profound affection for his family, and he reserved a very particular place in his heart for his grandparents and grandchildren. A deep affection for his family was something he possessed.
His six children, Bobbie (Tom) Shimek, Robert (Shelley) Gillen Jr., Jon Gillen, Richard (Jennette) Gillen, Betty (Dan) Huebsch, and Corbin (Doreen) Gillen, as well as his 19 grandsons, 17 great-grandchildren, and a sister named Gerrie Gallant, are among those who are able to carry on his legacy. Additional members of his family consist of his 19 great-grandchildren.
