Bluey is an Australian preschool animated television series that debuted on ABC Kids on October 1, 2018. Joe Brumm and Queensland production company Ludo Studio collaborated on the show. The Australian Broadcasting Corporation and the British Broadcasting Corporation collaborated on the project, with BBC Studios handling global distribution and merchandising rights. In the United States, the series premiered on Disney Junior, and it was then aired internationally on Disney+.

After a complaint to the Advertising Standards Board that she appeared very young and that it was "suggestive of pedophilia," a poster containing a photograph of her advertising a play of Romeo and Juliet by the Queensland Theatre Company was withdrawn in 2012. Melanie found this amusing because she was 26 at the time the photo was taken and Juliet in the narrative was supposed to be 14.

Warhurst is the co-host of the weekly art podcast Bang On and an actor who plays Aunt Trixie in the Australian cartoon comedy Bluey. She is now Australia's commentator for the Eurovision Song Contest alongside Joel Creasey.
