Benjamin Thompson Obituary,  Death – At the age of 34, Benjamin Patrick Thompson passed away at his Cub Run home on Saturday, October 21st. He sold insurance and worked as a real estate agent. His entire life was devoted to conservation. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding horses, and dogs. Using his horse, Trigger, he gave his nephews their first riding experience. In addition to being a youth baseball coach, he loved anything involving kids. Ben was a real rustic cowboy who relished the experience to the hilt.

Ben was saved at a revival led by brothers Leland Childress and Keith Sanders when he was eleven years old. He was a member of the Pine Grove Baptist Church. His paternal grandparents Ruel and Betty Thompson and his maternal grandma Bonita Wilson both passed away before him.
Ben’s best friend and cherished dog Winston, his maternal grandfather Oral Wilson, his aunts Sandra Thompson (the late Larry of Cub Run).

Pam Turner (the late Randy) of Horse Cave, and Marilyn Thompson . (the late Billy) of Horse Cave, as well as his parents Mark and Patricia Wilson Thompson of Cub Run, his brother Nick Thompson and his wife Neila-Susan Thompson and their children Carson, Jackson, and Naomi of Petersburg, TN, a special cousin Meghan Thompson, and cousins Wendy Caudel and Scott Thompson, all survive Ben.

Bro. Keith Sanders will preside over Benjamin Patrick Thompson’s funeral ceremony, which is scheduled to take place in the Sego Funeral Home chapel on Wednesday, October 25 at 11 a.m. The Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery will be the place of burial. The Sego Funeral Home will be open for visitation on Tuesday from 3 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday after 8 a.m. The family has asked that memorial contributions be sent to Sego Funeral Home or to Animal Rescue Kare of Hart County, P.O. Box 427, Munfordville, KY 42765.
