Bellamy Young, who was adopted when she was six weeks old, was born on the 19th day of February 1970. Her adoptive parents gave her the name Amy Maria Young. Her biological mother loved to sing. So when adopting the actress, her adoptive mother tried to foster singing and a love of the creative arts in Bellamy. At the age of fourteen, she lost her father to lung cancer and was cared for by a friend of his, Bill.
