Arteta Dismisses Rumours of Departure from Arsenal as “Fake News”

The recent reports linking the Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta, with a potential move away from the club in June have been labelled as “fake news” by the Spaniard.

Expressing his frustration, Arteta emphasized that he is fully committed to his role at Arsenal and has no intention of leaving, stating that there is still plenty for him to accomplish with the team.

His remarks came during the pre-match press conference for Arsenal’s upcoming Premier League fixture against Nottingham Forest.

Speculation had surfaced over the weekend, suggesting that the former Manchester City assistant coach would depart from the Gunners at the conclusion of the season.

Speaking out against the rumors, Arteta was quoted by Fabrizio Romano as saying, “This fake news about me leaving in June makes me upset. I’m immersed in a beautiful journey with my players, the staff, our beautiful people. There is still a lot to do here at Arsenal.” He further added, “I always said I’m in the right place.”

In the previous season, Arteta guided Arsenal to a second-place finish, and this season, his team currently holds the third position in the Premier League standings, trailing the league leaders, Liverpool, by five points.
