Andrew Tate has entered the court premises to contest his 30-day detention in connection with alleged human trafficking, rape, and exploitation of women.
The controversial influencer, aged 36, was seen emerging from a police van in Bucharest this morning, bound to his detained brother Tristan.
The so-called ‘Tate’s Angels,’ including former policewomen Luana Radu and Georgiana Naghel, alleged girlfriend of Andrew, were also present in handcuffs in front of the millionaire adult webcam businessmen.
They were apprehended following a raid on Tate’s concrete compound on December 29, following accusations of luring and trafficking young women into online pornography by deceptive means.
They have refuted the allegations through legal representation and have contested the arrest warrant.
The purported victims were reported to have been sexually exploited to create explicit content for social media platforms, resulting in significant financial gains, according to prosecutors.
Prosecutors also alleged that one of the siblings raped a victim in March of the prior year, which prompted the initiation of the investigation.
‘The potential for the suspects to evade investigation, leave Romania, and settle in countries that do not allow extradition due to their financial resources and public remarks in that regard cannot be overlooked,’ stated the court judge in the written record authorizing the arrest.
Authorities have confiscated 15 luxury vehicles and over 10 properties and homes owned by the suspects in Bucharest and Prahova and Brasov counties to prevent the potential sale or concealment of assets, as stated by Ramona Bolla, a spokesperson for Romanian anti-organized crime unit DIICOT.
If the court upholds the detention warrant and the investigation requires additional time, prosecutors can request extensions of up to 180 days of detention, in accordance with Romanian law.
Tate gained widespread notability for his derogatory remarks and hate speech, resulting in bans from major social media platforms. However, his account was reinstated in November following Elon Musk’s assumption of control over Twitter.
The former professional kickboxer, holding U.S. and British citizenship, has espoused misogynistic views, attributing partial responsibility for rape to women and advocating male ownership of women.
In a previous podcast, he revealed his initial earnings from persuading multiple girlfriends to engage in video chats and share the profits, during his time in London.
Furthermore, he articulated his operation’s evolution, from starting with two girlfriends to eventually overseeing 75 women generating $600,000 per month.
He also asserted his relocation to Romania subsequent to an investigation in the United Kingdom on sexual assault charges, which were ultimately dropped, citing a preference for residing in countries marked by accessible corruption.
The former Big Brother contestant recently embraced Islam, declaring it the ‘one true religion,’ and has disseminated Quranic excerpts to his substantial following.
One of his associates, Radu, 32, had previously served at a law enforcement station in central Bucharest but resigned eight years ago to pursue a career in video chat rooms, a lucrative industry in Romania attracting men from around the world.
Naghel, 28, a U.S. citizen, is described as a businesswoman and influencer who reportedly had been in a relationship with Tate for nearly a year.
Prosecutors, in a court filing yesterday, alleged that Tate prevented women from leaving his premises unaccompanied, as indicated in WhatsApp messages.
The messages purportedly originated from women forced by Tate and his brother to create sexually explicit content online.
In the uncovered messages exchanged between Tate and the alleged victims, the notorious misogynist appears to boast about commanding the operation.
This development follows the assertion from the Tate brothers’ lawyer that Romanian authorities lack evidence corroborating the claims of rape and human trafficking.
In excerpts obtained and disclosed by Gandul, one of the women in a WhatsApp group seeks permission from Tate to depart the compound.
Andrew Tate instructs her not to leave unaccompanied and insists that she informs one of three trusted employees before going anywhere.
The woman responds by questioning Tate’s demeanor toward her, to which he warns her not to go out unescorted and labels it her ‘last warning!’
In additional messages released by Gandul, Tate swanks about his managerial role in the operation, referenced by one of the women inquiring about his involvement in overseeing the business.
Tate’s response establishes his authority over the enterprise, citing the involvement of his brother and Georgiana Naghel, who was also detained with the Tate brothers.
The revelations in the messages coincide with the lawyer’s declaration that Romanian law enforcement lacks substantiating evidence for their allegations against the infamous misogynist.
