Drew and Jonathan Scott, the property brothers are talented, handsome, intelligent and very successful in their careers. They are also very popular in the reality TV niche they have carved out for themselves. Drew is a real estate professional who finds abandoned homes and negotiates their purchase. When he does, his brother Jonathan, who is a licensed contractor, will renovate the house and give it a new look.
In doing so, they help families in desperate need to find, buy and live in the homes of their dreams. Behind the handsome property brothers, there are a lot of unknown things about them which we are going to describe here.
Bio of The Property Brothers
The property brothers were born on April 28, 1978, in Vancouver, British Columbia. Their nationality and ethnicity are both Canadian. They were born to Jim Scott, their father and Joanne Scott is their mother. The twins have a younger brother, James Daniel, their only known sibling. The three of them grew up on the family ranch where they had ample time to play and take care of the family animals on the ranch.
Drew Scoot
The older twin’s love of acting began in his elementary school; he started out doing comedy and drama, which he followed through Thomas Haney Secondary School, where he was also active in sports; play and coach basketball and volleyball. In college, Drew went to the University of Calgary and majored in Kinesiology with a minor in Math.
In high school, he had roles in TV series like Smallville and Breaker High where he performed exceptionally well. Later, he and his twin brother asked to put on a home improvement show called My Dream House and they got it. The show is known today as Property Brothers. Their notoriety was quite fast, but maybe because they are good at what they do, they have no limits.
Jonathan Scott
Jonathan from a young age had a weakness for magic. In his teens, he was actively performing and was recognized as an award-winning magician and illusionist in their hometown. Like his brother, he also had a talent for acting. They began performing as child actors and often self-requested roles which they would perform and carefully rehearse before performing in theater or television.
Jonathan attended the University of Calgary for Business; He then transferred to the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology and the Home Builders Institute of Alberta, where he studied construction and design.
At 18, Drew and Jonathan were buying and profiting from neglected homes, by their mid-twenties they already had a promising business in real estate, design and renovations, and were working with hundreds of clients.
The property brothers size
The twins don’t look alike and are hard to tell apart, they are almost the same height of 6ft 5in with just a 1in height difference. Drew Scott is 6ft 4in tall, while his twin brother Jonathan is 6ft 5in.
Apart from being tall and beautiful, they also play karate, which helps them stay fit and appeal to women.
Are goods gay, married?
For years, Drew was considered gay. However, he dealt a massive blow to rumor and public suspicion when he married his longtime girlfriend Linda Phan in 2016. They had known each other for over 6 years. Linda works as Creative Director at Scott Brothers Entertainment. Scott revealed that he “enjoyed her being there while filming ‘Property Brothers’ because she kept them grounded.”
Much like Drew, everything about him also spills over to his brother Jonathan. He was also suspected of being gay and since he is still unmarried a few years after his twin brother tied the nuptial cord, one begins to wonder what his sexuality is.
For now, he’s devoted to caring for his two-pint dogs; a Chihuahua and a Yorkie named Gracie and Stewie respectively.
Although he was seen publicly at an event with a woman whose name was revealed by a little bird like Jacinta, not much can be said about the two if they are dating or just know each other. Jonathan’s sexual orientation will finally be confirmed when he chooses to marry like his brother did. Perhaps then only the question “are the property brothers gay?” Can she get a conclusive answer.
Is the show fake?
Due to the fact that much of what is shown on television today is well scripted and doctored to give a false picture of realism. Many people have expressed their doubts about the series. They ask if it’s real or not.
Here’s how we should go about it before deciding whether or not it’s fake.
A quick recap of the typical Property Show –
A couple shows up and wants an amazing house will call their home and it should be located right in the heart of their chosen neighborhood and they would like to move in immediately. The brothers got to work and found their dream home. The problems start when the house is too expensive for their budget.
One solution is for the brothers to find the worst houses in the neighborhood that the couple usually wouldn’t want. However, Drew makes them a good deal for the house and they eventually agree to pay for it while Jonathan does a makeover for the house. After a few weeks where it must be over, the couple come and are impressed with what they have done. Instantly they fall in love with the house and live in their dream house.
It’s the typical sight of a property sibling to you.
Based on this account, some people who have followed the show long enough to be able to tell a storyline from reality have critically stated that the show is scripted.
Some of the reasons they gave for this are:
- Admission from previous couples in the show that they had already paid for their accommodation before appearing.
- Some said they had already decided to own the house before it was taken by the brothers.
- Estate agents and general contractors are supposed to be licensed in their operating state before doing business there. However, in season 9 and 10 of the series, they were filmed in Greater New York, selling and renovating a house so you could connect the dots together.
- Each episode of the series follows the same pattern, with one or two issues created to add some suspense to the whole drama.
If you’ve seen the show and are now aware of these false indications, you’re in the right position to make your judgment.
