BIOGRAPHY
Born to a Japanese father and an English father, Andrew Koji grew up in Epsom near London. As a teenager, he appeared in short films and wanted to become an actor. At the same time, he practiced martial arts (taekwondo and Shaolin kung fu) and flew to Thailand when he was 18. There, he did several odd jobs in the country’s film industry.
Andrew then returned to London to join the Actors Temple Studio and played, with the Royal Shakespeare Company, in several plays such as Star Wars Stage Show , Richard II , A Streetcar Named Desire , The Fu Manchu Complete and Hidden . With his physical abilities, Andrew Koji was hired to be Sung Kang
‘s understudy on Fast & Furious 6 (2013). He continued by appearing in short films and especially several episodes of series. Among them: The Wrong Mans , Acquitted , Call the Midwife: Les heroines de l’ombre , Peaky Blinders , American Gods and especially Warrior , which launched his career since he played the hero. In this series based on an idea by Bruce Lee mixing Kung Fu, corruption and machination against a backdrop of clan war, Andrew Koji plays Ah Sahm, a Chinese martial arts prodigy who goes to San Francisco to find his sister. From then on, the actor was sought after in the cinema for major roles in blockbusters. He plays Storm Shadow in Snake Eyes , the spin-off of GI Joe – The Rise of the Cobra and Conspiracy . Then, he joined Brad Pitt in the explosive Bullet Train , a crazy action film adapted from a Japanese novel, which follows the devastating encounter of several hitmen on a high-speed train.
