BIOGRAPHY
Son of Lourdes and Luis Almeida, Andrés Almeida studied Fine Arts, but he consumed films since he was little and considers himself a film buff since he was a child. The best memories he has of his development as an actor are attending international film exhibitions each year in the cultural spaces of Mexico City. Almeida, in addition to being an actor, is a musician and music producer.
During 1997, while he was studying his first year at UNAM, he began his career in the seventh art with a small role in the film De noche vinos, Esmeralda ( 1997), directed by Jaime Humberto Hermosillo and which became one of the most successful films of Mexican cinema of that year. After his participation in some short films, the actor returned to participate in another successful film, in this case the film directed by Alfonso Cuarón, Y tu madre also (2001), alongside Gael García Bernal and Diego Luna. Soon, Andrés became a frequent figure in the Mexican industry, participating in films such as Déficit (2007), 40 Días ( 2008), Rudo y Cursi (2008), The Other Family (2011) and The Language of Machetes (2011) . ).
The actor has also been involved in television projects, acting in series such as Terminales (2008), Los Heroes del Norte (2010-2013), The Color of Passion (2014), Amor de Barrio (2015), La Hermandad (2016). and Diablo Guardian (2017). The same year as Diablo Guardian , Andrés worked with Willem Dafoe in the film Opus Zero , who is one of his favorite actors and, he assures, one of the best duos he has made in his career. The following years after that participation, the actor appeared in Paradise Lost (2016), Thirty, Single and Fantastic ( 2016), The Immoral Life of the Ideal Couple (2016), Road to Mars (2017) , in addition to the series Blue Demon (2016-2017) and Here on Earth (2018). In 2018 he won the Ariel Award for Best Feature Actor thanks to his participation in Sebastián Hoffman’s film, Tiemposhare (2018). In 2020, Andrés presents several projects, including the films Me Married with an Idiot and Carrion , as well as the television series R, Ana and 100 Days to Fall in Love. He also participated in
Compulsion , a Mexican science fiction film that is spoken in English so, unfortunately, it did not find a large distribution channel in Mexico.
