Anderson Paak saw life differently in Shadows more than most people will ever see their entire lives. He grew up in a home with an abusive father who ended up in prison after beating his mother to death, and at one point had to work on a marijuana farm to make ends meet. At one point he became homeless along with his wife and baby after being laid off from his job on the farm.

Born Brandon Paak Anderson (stylized as Anderson Paak) on February 8, 1986 in Oxnard, California, the singer is the son of an African American father and a half-mixed Korean and half African-American mother.
Raised in his family’s church as a drummer, he began producing music from his bedroom when he was a teenage student at Foothill Technology High School. Before the world knew his name, he worked in an assisted living facility, worked as an engineer for a punk band, followed a woman to Los Angeles and formed his band. He also worked at a marijuana farm in SantaBarbara in 2011, but after a while he was asked to leave without warning. Anderson Paak, who had no place for his young family, faced homelessness. Eventually Paak’s first album entitled OBE Vol 1 was completed and released in mid-2012. That same year, he became the drummer for Haley Reinhart, an American singer/songwriter who rose to prominence after being named third in the tenth issue ofAmerican Idol.
The following year, specifically on November 27, Anderson Paak recorded and produced cover art for an EP entitled All-Cover . The cover was released by two different labels – Hellfyre Club, a Los Angeles-based independent record label, and OBE labels.
On October 28, 2014, the singer released Venice , his first album as Anderson Paak, onOBE and steel wool. This was followed by the release of his second album, Malibu , on January 15, 2016. Malibu , which received critical acclaim, included contributions from 9th Wonder, Rapsody and Kaytranada.
On January 30th, an announcement was made by Paak via Twitter, revealing that he is attending Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment affiliated. He explained the reason for his actions and said that he regularly sends his ideas to Dr. Dre send and they work together very quickly. In 2016, Anderson Paak was among ten people who hip-hop magazine named XXL Freshmen.
In 2018, Anderson’s new single “ Until It’s Over ” was used in an Apple Inc. new television commercial promoting the Apple HomePod smart speaker. Towards the end of the year, in an interview with Complex magazine, he revealed that his next Album will be released on November 16, 2018. The album is titled Oxnard and featured Q-Tip, Kendrick Lamar, J. Col, Snoop Dogg and Pusha T.
On April 12, 2019, Anderson Paak released his fourth studio album, Ventura, which features multiple artists including Brandy, André 3000, the late Nate Dogg and Smokey Robinson among others. Released by Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment, the album also had Dre as executive producer.
The singer embarked on a world tour titled “Andy’s Beach Club” in support of Oxnard on February 11, 2019. The tour began in San Francisco at The Masonic and concluded in Vienna on March 27. Paat announced another tour with his band The Free Nationals, titled The Best Teef In The Game Tour, which will begin on May 17, 2019.

Anderson Paak has been married twice. He met and married his first wife at his family church, where he was a drummer. They remained married for a number of years before separating.
