Amy Lynn Carter was born on October 19, 1967 in Plains, Georgia, USA. She was born to Eleanor Rosalynn and James Earl Carter Jr. along with her three brothers, Jack, Donnel and James. Amy spent the first three years of her life in her birthplace, Plains. Her family then moved to Georgia’s capital, Atlanta, to live at the government building when her father became governor of the US state in 1970. In 1976 they left Atlanta, Georgia for the White House in Washington, DC when Jimmy became President.
Amy Carter completed her elementary education at Stevens Elementary School, Washington DC. She then attended Rose Hardy Middle School, also in WDC. She then completed her senior high at Woodward Academy in College Park near Atlanta.
After high school, Amy Carter enrolled at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. However, she was unable to complete her program as the university fired her in her sophomore year in 1987 for failing to complete her coursework. Amy then transferred to Memphis College of Arts in Tennessee, graduating with a Bachelors in Fine Arts degree. She later graduated with a degree in art history from Tulane University in New Orleans.
An art professional, Carter provided illustrations for Little Baby Snoogle-Fleejer , a 1996 book written for children by Jimmy Carter. She is also a member of the Board of Counselors for the Carter Center, a human rights organization founded in 1982 by Jimmy Carter.

While attending Tulane, Amy Carter met James Gregory Wentzel, a computer consultant. After several years, they married in September 1996. Carter and Wentzel welcomed their first child on July 29, 1999, a son named Hugo James Wentzel.
After their marriage, Carter led a quieter and more private life, rarely appearing in public. She currently resides in Atlanta with her husband and son.

Before the Carter presidential administration, young children were not allowed to reside in the White House. But Amy Carter became a resident of the United States seat of government at the age of nine. 2. All about her Misty Malarky Ying Yang
Not only did Amy Carter come to live at the White house as a child, but she also came with her pet cat, named Misty Malarky Ying Yang. This is remarkable because after Misty, no other cat lived in the Presidential Box until Bill Clinton’s own name, Socks.
3. Amy’s Tree House
Amy Carter truly enjoyed a carefree life in The White House during her father’s presidency. With the help of her friends, she built a tree house on the south lawn of the Presidential Mansion. She was eventually arrested by security forces in 1986 along with 13 other protesters for picketing at the University of Massachusetts Amherst over CIA college recruitment. But Amy and her colleagues passed the trials without conviction of any of the crimes committed against them. However, the university expelled her for failing her degree due to the distractions.
