According to former Juventus midfielder Alessio Tacchinardi, the Serie A giants should never have re-signed Paul Pogba last year.
Pogba returned to Juventus from Manchester United in 2022.
The Frenchman has been provisionally suspended by Juventus after testing positive for testosterone this week.
In response to this development, Tacchinardi stated, as reported by Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb, “Many other players, when they came back to Italy after spending many years abroad, faced similar challenges and struggled to reach the same level. Players like Kakà, Shevchenko, and Vidal come to mind, among many others. Aside from the doping issue, I would have sought a more reliable midfielder in any case, as it was evident that Pogba was not the same player as before.”
He further added, “To achieve those numbers, you need to be someone like Rabiot, who consistently delivers solid and intense performances in 40 games.”
