Airline removes six seats to allow world’s tallest woman fly on plane for first time

The world’s tallest woman has experienced her first plane ride with Turkish Airlines, as the airline made special arrangements for her unique needs. Rumeysa Gelgi, who has a rare genetic disorder called Weaver syndrome, stands at 7 feet tall and typically uses a wheelchair for mobility. In a journey from Istanbul to San Francisco, the airline modified the plane by removing six economy seats and converting them into a stretcher to accommodate her.

Updating her followers on social media, Gelgi expressed gratitude for the seamless journey and indicated that it won’t be her last plane ride. She also mentioned her plans to be in the US for at least six months to advance her career and collaborate with Guinness World Records.

Gelgi holds several Guinness World Records titles, including the tallest teenager living in 2014 and the world’s tallest woman in 2021. She has also achieved records for having the longest finger, largest hands, and longest back on a living female person.
