Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, has made a heartfelt appeal to his fellow countrymen to throw their weight behind the team as they gear up for the commencement of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast this weekend.
Musa emphasized the crucial role of support from the Nigerian fans, asserting that it is the sole factor that can propel Jose Peseiro’s men to great success in the AFCON tournament.
The Super Eagles will kick off their campaign with a match against Equatorial Guinea on Sunday.
During an interview with NFF TV, Musa expressed the team’s enthusiasm and eagerness and conveyed, “Everybody is happy in camp, excited, just waiting for us to go to Abidjan for the start of the tournament.”
The former Leicester City forward concluded with a message to his fellow Nigerians, stressing, “The only thing we need is their belief in the team. With their support, we can go far.”
Meanwhile, the Super Eagles suffered a setback in their last friendly match, losing 2-0 to Guinea.
