In a remarkable video, a 12-year-old girl was seen grabbing and swinging a snake in an extraordinary effort to rescue her pet guinea pig from the serpent’s grasp.
The footage, captured on Sunday, Jan. 28, 2024 in Brisbane, shows Rosie Wightman bravely taking action to save her pet named MaxiBon from the jaws of a snake.
Amidst shrubs in her backyard in Sunshine Coast, Rosie managed to free her small guinea pig from the snake’s hold by forcefully swinging the serpent.
When asked about her daring act, Rosie told 7NEWS, “Didn’t even think it through. I was just like, ‘grab the snake, grab the snake’.”
Eventually, with the help of her father, the snake was separated from the guinea pig, allowing MaxiBon to escape to safety unharmed.
Thankfully, both Rosie and the guinea pig came out of the incident unscathed.
Her father, Luke Wightman, expressed his pride, saying, “I’m proud that my Rosie, at 12 years old, had the guts to pick up a snake and save her pet’s life.”
